Children From The Back 
Instructions to Create Your Own Painting 

Tell me a bit about yourself and what it is you would like to have created. 
Is this painting for your home, commercial space, special occasion or gift?

I am the artist, oil painter, Vicki Aisner-Porter
The canvases are 48" X 48", painted in an oil-wash.
Each framed in 1" X 2" rough sawn Cedarwood
2,3,4,5 children 'from the back' side by side across the canvas

To incorporate your own children or the kid-choices you have made from the 
selections offered here into a 'commissioned' piece I will need your help 
with the following information:

PHOTOGRAPHS: 
Nothing fancy! Not necessary to be 'from the back.' One picture for each 
child is fine. Photographs can be returned OR simply make a combination of 
choices from little people in the available photos.

AGES: 
Pick the time of life chosen for this consignment. If your children are 
grown now and you would like them portrayed younger / I need those ages and 
sizes.

SKIN TONE: 
describe obvious shades from light to black

HEIGHTS: 
In comparison to each other / at age desired. 

HAIR COLORS: 
Blond, blonder, light/dark brown, red, black, etc 

TEXTURE OF HAIR:
Straight, wavy, curly, very curly, thick, thin

LENGTH OF HAIR & STYLE: 
Braids, piled on top /messy or tidy.

STATURE: 
Explain this in comparison to the other siblings; such as thin, tall & 
lanky, sturdy; "next to his brother Joe he is shorter and stockier."; "She 
is slender and delicate."; "Jonah is only 3 & looks 'tough', but he's very 
sweet."

NEAT OR SLOPPY: 
Which means a preference for shirts tucked in or hanging out, a strict 
clothing code or "it doesn't matter if his socks match!!"

CLOTHING CHOICES: 
They would either love overalls or would never wear them! I need to know if
 'she' would never wear a dress! Would the normal choice be jeans or beige 
pants/khakis? "Sam loves his striped shirts & his trucks."

SHOES: 
Low/high-top gym shoes, cowboy boots, sandals, hiking boots, bare feet, 
patent leather Mary Janes, etc

HATS: 
Would never wear them or "He wore cowboy hats as a kid" or a hat like the 
old sailor hats, backwards baseball cap, wide or narrow brim hat with a 
flower, derby, top hat, red, white & blue parade hat / etc.

PERSONALITY: 
A brief disclosure of their individual personalities like: "Emily would wear
 high-tops with a dress & has a favorite stuffed rabbit" or "Joshua is 
proper, studious & tucked-in" or "Blossom would wear long-gown dress-ups 
to school every day if she could & has an old raggedyann doll." "Jacob 
always wears jeans and t-shirts... cool looking but on the sloppy side."

COLORS: 
I need to know if there are colors you do NOT LIKE.
I would like to know a predominant color or one you WANT
In the case of your purchasing a piece as a gift you can feel comfortable 
knowing I use colors of the earth. 

PAINTING TITLES: 
There are only 5. . . the choice is yours because clients LOVE certain 
titles. I will scrawl the name across the back frame with the DATE of 
completion that gives the piece its standing in the world.
